2007 GRADUATE RESEARCH GRANTS
Los Amigos Research Center and Conservation
Madre de Dios, Peru
The Amazon Conservation Association (ACA) and its Peruvian counterpart,
the Asociación para la Conservación de la Cuenca Amazónica
(ACCA), invite students enrolled in master's and doctoral graduate programs
or diplom arbeit programs to submit research proposals in ecology,
systematics, animal behavior, physiology, genetics, forest management,
sustainable development, conservation, ethnobiology, geography, geology,
and related fields. A limited number of grants, generally in the range
of $3,000-$5,000, will support field work carried out at the Los Amigos
Research Center and Conservation Area in Amazonian Peru. The grant will
support travel to and from the station, living expenses, and field equipment.
Before preparing a proposal, applicants should familiarize themselves
with ACA's research priorities page, which
describes a significant change from previous grant cycles. Applicants
should also browse the CICRA research
project page to ensure that their proposed research complements ongoing
work at the station and fits with ACA's long term goals in science and
conservation.
